IEP Advocacy & Parent Support

Feel more prepared to advocate for your child.

You see your child’s strengths. You also see when school feels harder than it should. Understanding an IEP, knowing which questions to ask, and deciding what to do next can feel overwhelming.

Modern Wellness helps Wisconsin parents understand their child’s school supports, organize their concerns, and prepare for meaningful conversations with the school team.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Do you question what your child’s IEP means in everyday life.

  • Your child is struggling, and you wonder whether their supports even fit their needs.

  • You want clearer information about progress or services.

  • Anxiety, attention, emotional regulation, or relationships are affecting school.

  • You leave meetings with unanswered questions… or think of them afterward.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Supporting families throughout Wisconsin

Turn your concerns into a clear plan.

Understand the current supports

We review the agreed-upon records and help you make sense of goals, services, accommodations, and progress information.

Identify questions worth asking

Together, we explore possible gaps between documented needs and planned supports, separating what the records show from what still needs clarification.

Prepare for the conversation

We organize your priorities into practical talking points, questions, and requests you can bring to the school team.

Know what to do next

We help you track decisions, identify unresolved concerns, and plan your follow-up.

Your child is more than a document.

School planning should reflect the child behind the paperwork—their strengths, interests, relationships, and experiences.

Modern Wellness brings a mental health perspective to conversations about learning and school participation. We consider how emotional well-being connects with your child’s educational experience while keeping your family’s priorities and your child’s voice central.

What working together looks like

1. Start with your concerns
We discuss what is happening, what is working, and what you hope will change.

2. Review the relevant information
We agree on which records to review and provide instructions for sharing them securely.

3. Build your parent action plan
We meet to discuss findings, prioritize questions, and prepare next steps for your school conversation.

Depending on the service selected, your plan may include:

  • A plain-language summary of key findings.

  • A prioritized meeting agenda.

  • Questions about goals, services, and progress.

  • Draft letters for you to review and send.

  • A checklist for decisions and follow-up.

Clarity Backed by Expertise

Take the next step with a clearer sense of direction.

You bring knowledge of your child. We help you organize that knowledge, ask focused questions, and prepare for the next conversation.

Parent consultation and meeting preparation do not replace school evaluations or legal advice. Specific services or outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
